USIS CEO Bill Mixon is guest on D.C. area FedTalk radio program
FALLS CHURCH, Va., March 5, 2010 - USIS President and CEO William “Bill” Mixon was interviewed on WFED 1500 AM in Washington, D.C., on March 5, and talked about USIS growth, the hiring of new investigators, and gave advice to those seeking a security clearance. USIS, an Altegrity company, is the largest provider of security investigations to the federal government and works on national security contracts.
In the FedTalk interview, show host/attorney Bill Bransford commented on the professionalism and thoroughness he’s experienced with USIS background investigators who’ve come to interview him. Mr. Mixon said it’s because “we work closely with our federal clients and customers to be sure we understand the investigating guidelines to comply with. We have comprehensive training that takes a couple of months to get up to speed. We hope that if ever you bump into a USIS Investigator, you’ll have a high quality experience.”
Mr. Mixon has been with USIS for more than five years and leads more than 7,000 employees from its headquarters in Falls Church, Va. He was interviewed from the company’s Atlanta office, where they are adding 100 investigators in the southeast U.S. He said the company expects to hire 500-600 employees nationwide in 2010.
Mr. Mixon says USIS has 70-80 contracts. “Besides background investigations,” he said, “we provide other personnel security and adjudicative services, physical security, and policy risk assessments. We’re also in the police training space (internationally), and we provide record and data management services. We continue to grow the company and create solutions new to our portfolio.”
