Altegrity Risk International expands Decision Intelligence resources

NEW YORK, N.Y., March 24, 2010 – Altegrity Risk International (ARI)—an Altegrity, Inc., company that provides high-quality due diligence, investigative, analytic, consulting, intelligence, and security solutions to organizations around the world—has strengthened its industry-leading Decision Intelligence practice area with resources that will enable it to serve clients with greater agility and efficiency while delivering results with more precision and depth than ever before.

According to Lee Spirer, ARI chief operating officer, “We assembled the best people in the decision intelligence business through our acquisition of Corporate Risk International (CRI). Through our experience, we know where risks are present for our clients in the diverse transactions and compliance programs we execute globally. We have honed our process to provide cost-effective and timely solutions that leverage our team of executives, multilingual analysts, and network of in-country contractors.” He continued, “We will continue to create value for our global clients by combining our people and process expertise with applied advanced analytics and sophisticated technology.”

The senior managing director and leader of ARI’s Decision Intelligence practice area is Jim McWeeney, previously president and CEO of CRI, who has nearly two decades of experience in intelligence-gathering operations throughout the Americas; Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA); and the Asia Pacific region. Mr. McWeeney is responsible for a global enterprise that has performed diligence for clients in more than 150 countries. Case managers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong oversee the practice area’s regional activities, including those of more than 50 employees around the world and more than 250 contractors.

Two key members of Mr. McWeeney’s CRI leadership team who also joined ARI include Linda Huang, managing director of due diligence, who closely manages teams of case managers, research analysts, and on-the-ground consultants who work on projects, and Renee Juidiciani, vice president of special projects, whose responsibilities include supervising ARI's extensive database research and quality improvement efforts.

Two other members of the Decision Intelligence practice represent ARI’s commitment to employing the latest advancements in technology and analytics to leverage the high level of expertise already existing in the practice area. David Riker, vice president of data solutions, is responsible for identifying and bringing to market technology and data-driven solutions to help clients manage the risks associated with their business relationships worldwide. Mark Kornbluth, vice president of technology operations, is responsible for developing and implementing ARI’s innovative technical solutions with the firm’s industrial strength process.

In addition, our newest member of the ARI team demonstrates our commitment to bringing the best practitioners to bear for our clients. Arun Banerjee has joined the firm as managing director of business development from Goldman Sachs, where he was COO of the Business Intelligence Group. Mr. Banerjee will be responsible for further developing ARI’s programs with key financial services clients and providing leading insight on evolving the firm’s products.

Mr. McWeeney said, “ARI’s approach is far-reaching and unique because we not only provide clients with the perspective and insight of our experienced analysts; we also use sophisticated technologies to extract pertinent information as efficiently as possible and can uncover crucial interconnections—often latent or unexpected—present in that data. The result is that ARI transforms information into the competitive intelligence that clients can use to protect their organizations, assets, and reputation.”

Typical clients for ARI’s Decision Intelligence services require information for investing purposes (M&A, venture, private equity), vendor or customer screening (KYC), or compliance screening related to anti-money laundering (AML), terrorist financing, and/or the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

ARI provides solutions and services in five distinct practice areas: Decision Intelligence, Investigative & Forensic Services, Legal Risk Solutions, Compliance & Monitoring, and Altegrity Security Consulting.

ARI has a network of consultants, investigators, and specialists around the globe with experience in more than 150 countries. Additionally, as an Altegrity company, ARI has access to the largest investigative force in the United States, with more than 2,800 well-trained and cleared investigators.
