Altegrity names Carolyn Chabrow Berger as Chief Counsel, Labor and Employment
Falls Church, Va., May 24, 2010 –
Altegrity, Inc.—the global screening, risk management, and security solutions provider—has named Carolyn Chabrow Berger as chief counsel, labor and employment. She will work closely with each of Altegrity’s business lines as well as its human resources function, providing pertinent legal advice and counsel. Ms. Berger reports to David Fontaine, senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary.
“Carolyn is a great addition to our legal team,” said Mr. Fontaine. “She has a depth of knowledge and insight into the legal aspects of human resources and employment issues, which will expand our ability to advise and support our colleagues throughout the corporation as we collectively focus on acquisitions as well as organic growth.”
Ms. Berger comes to Altegrity with more than 10 years experience as in-house counsel and brings a practical approach to a wide range of workplace issues. Prior to joining Altegrity, Ms. Berger served as chief counsel, employment and labor, at AOL Inc. In that role, she provided leadership and expert advice to senior executives, human resources, and legal personnel on matters including employee relations, diversity and EEO compliance, discrimination claims, compensation and benefits, internal investigations, non-competition and non-solicitation issues, wage and hour issues, contingent workforce and labor relations issues. She also brings significant expertise in employment issues associated with organizational change, including acquisitions, divestitures, outsourcing, joint ventures, reorganizations, and reductions in workforce.
Ms. Berger graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and a Juris Doctor from George Washington University National Law Center in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the state bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, Florida and corporate counsel in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
