Kroll Chairman Bill Bratton appointed to Homeland Security Advisory Council

NEW YORK, NY, October 18, 2010 – William J. Bratton, chairman of Kroll, an Altegrity company, was recently sworn in as the vice chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano. DHS announced Mr. Bratton’s appointment in an October 15, 2010 media release.

Mr. Bratton is known as one of America’s premier police chiefs, the man who spearheaded two decades of crime declines in the largest cities in the U.S. while simultaneously improving police relations with minority communities and minimizing police corruption and abuse. He is the only person to have led the two largest police forces in the U.S., the New York City Police Department and the LAPD.

Secretary Napolitano swore in Mr. Bratton at DHS headquarters during her tri-annual meeting with the HSAC. The council provides advice and recommendations to the secretary on matters related to homeland security.

Mr. Bratton joined Altegrity in November 2009, after serving as Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for seven years. He is the Chairman of Kroll, one of Altegrity, Inc.'s four core businesses. Kroll is the world's leading risk consulting company, providing a broad range of investigative, intelligence, financial, due diligence, security, and technology services to help clients reduce risks, solve problems, and capitalize on opportunities.
